If someone tells you that they have experienced sexually harmful behaviour, your role is to support them to get information and make informed choices.
Support for victims and survivors
If you, or someone you are aware of, has experienced sexually harmful behaviour, you can receive specialist support from trained professionals.
You can make a report on behalf of someone else provided you have their consent.
If you are supporting a staff member that has experienced sexual assault or harassment you can assist them to access information and support, or assist them to meet with the following:
- An authorised staff disclosure officer
- The staff wellness manager.
You can informally or formally raise any concerns you have about a staff member’s behaviour to your Human Resources team.
If you are supporting a student you can assist them to access information and support, or assist them to meet with the following:
- A member of the Student Interest and Conflict Resolution team
- The Victoria University of Wellington Students’ Association student advocate.
