Get your IT sorted
Find out how to log in to University systems including email and wifi, how to print on campus, and how to access the online tools you'll need for your courses.
Nuku is where you can find all your course-related info and resources, like course notes, assignments, and communication from your course coordinators.
Pūaha is where you can access personalised tools and info for your studies, including timetable, grades, student records. You can also find your Student Success Adviser’s contact details and other support services through Pūaha.
Software and apps
Now that you're an enrolled student, you have access to Microsoft Office apps such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. You can use them online via the cloud-based Office 365 system, or download them to your personal device.
You may also need to use specialist software for your studies. Products for learning and research—including Endnote, JMP, Matlab, NVivo, and SAS—are available of student computers and are available to download from the University's software download centre.
Inclusive learning software
Inclusive learning software tools that can make learning more accessible—for example, by converting text to audio—are available on student computers and for download.
Printing on campus
You can send course materials, assignments, and essays to print from any student computer or any personal device on campus. When you're ready you can swipe your student ID card at any printer to get your pages.
Help with your personal device
You can use your personal device—laptop, tablet, or phone—to log into our wireless network (Wi-Fi) in most common areas on our campuses. You'll use your student username and password.
If you've having problems getting your device onto our wireless network, you can get support from our Digital Solutions team. You can contact them via the Service Desk or at a laptop clinic, which are held regularly on our Kelburn and Pipitea campuses.
Storing your work and files
You can use the myWorkspace tool to access your saved files from any computer, anywhere. myWorkspace is a secure disc space—you may also want to back your files up on a USB 'memory' stick.
