Friday space (UniQ Te Herenga Waka)

Friday Space is a relaxed, drop‑in space for all LGBT+ students to hang out, connect, and unwind in a welcoming environment. Tea, coffee, and board games are available. Most weeks, there are snacks too. Drop in at any time and stay for as long or as little as you like.

  • Date and Time: 11 am to 3 pm, every Friday during teaching weeks in all three trimesters.
  • Location: Rainbow room, SU209.

Rainbow Research Network

The Rainbow Research Network is an interdisciplinary coalition of staff and postgraduate students at Te Herenga Waka who have a shared interest in research initiatives related to our LGBTQIA+, Takatāpui, and MVPFAFF+ communities. They are a cross-discipline group of researchers from a range of programmes, schools, and faculties, united by a shared commitment to create a dedicated space for supporting intersectional research on gender, sex and sexuality, race, class, feminism, and queer and trans studies.

UniQ Te Herenga Waka is the University’s rainbow students’ association. They are a student-driven collective, striving to represent the voices of the rainbow student community with pride.
