Students with children

Find out about our spaces and services available for parents and children to support you and your family while you study.

We welcome students with children to Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington and understand the challenges of juggling family commitments with study and research. The following information aims to support you and your children while you study.

Wellbeing and support services

As a parent you will know how important it is to look after your own wellbeing and take time for yourself.

These online wellbeing resources from the student wellbeing team may be useful, especially those focused on self-care.

The University also has many services that can support you while studying. It is worth knowing a little about them before you need them.

The University has two early childhood centres located at Clermont Terrace and Fairlie Terrace at either end of the Kelburn campus.

High-quality services are available for children from zero to five years, both part time and full time, with a range of different session times and fees to best suit your needs. Places are available throughout the year. Contact University Kids Wellington to find out more.

University Kids Wellington can also provide a great safe space for children while parents meet, study, celebrate and connect. Email to see what options are available.
