The Bubble is a comfortable, friendly place on campus for students to take time out and connect with other students.
Back to the Bubble creativity competition
Send us a photo of something creative you've done in the lockdown!
First prize is a $100 SOS Business voucher and the three runners up will each get a $50 New World voucher. We’ll be creating a gallery in The Bubble to help us celebrate our ‘Back to the Bubble’ party when we reopen.
Send us images of your creative visual arts: painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, video, film-making, music, design, crafts, architecture, performing arts, conceptual art, textile arts, fashion, make-up, interior design, and decoration.
Entries close Friday 17 July.
Our student Bubble leaders will judge the competition. To enter, email the following to firstname.lastname@example.org:
- your first name
- a photo of your creation
- a short blurb (100 words max) about what your creation is and how it helped your wellbeing
- tell us if you would like to exhibit, perform, or present your creation in person for five minutes.
Take a break from the rush of campus life at the Bubble—a dedicated student space for personal downtime, meeting friends, and seeking advice from Bubble leaders, fellow students who know the ins and outs of the University and can point you in the right direction.
At the Bubble, you're invited to enjoy a free cup of tea or coffee, a piece of fruit, or heat up your lunch in the kitchen. There's space to relax in a bean bag, play guitar, or chill out to a relaxing playlist. Take a break from study and join in on a board game or try out origami, Sudoku, and mindful colouring to rest and reset.
You'll find regular support from Bubble leaders, who are current students trained in peer support.
Bubble leaders are here if you need help or advice—they can connect you with relevant services around campus, or just make time for a chat or a board game.
Bubble leaders can be found at the Bubble from 11 am until 2 pm on weekdays.
To find the Bubble, head to level 2 of the Student Union Building, Kelburn campus.
Contact Jude West, the University's Wellbeing and Education Adviser, for all enquiries about the Bubble or if you're interested in getting involved as a Bubble leader.
