Collecting tickets and academic dress

Find out where and when to pick up your graduation pack, including tickets for guests, and where and when to collect and return your academic dress.

Collecting tickets

If you're attending a ceremony at the Michael Fowler Centre, you'll collect your guest tickets from the reception desk in the Hunter building. If you're attending Te Hui Whakapūmau, you don't need guest tickets.

You should pick up your tickets before you collect your academic dress.

We will email you an individual QR code that you'll use to collect your tickets.

You can ask a friend or family member to pick up your tickets for you. They will need to sign for it, and our service will be much faster if you have forwarded them the email with your QR code or printed it out for them.

Keep your guest tickets safe. We will not be able to replace your guest tickets if you misplace them.

Collecting academic dress

Your academic dress depends on the qualification you're graduating with, but typically includes a robe, hood, and cap.

You'll collect the academic dress for graduation ceremonies from the ground floor of Murphy Building, Kelburn Parade. Bring your Grad Gear receipt or photo ID card when collecting.

If you're attending a Michael Fowler Centre (MFC) ceremony, you need to be at the venue and wearing your academic dress at least 45 minutes before the ceremony starts.

Pick up your academic dress in person, if you can

There is a final check of gown length and cap size when you collect your academic dress so it's best if you come in person.

Returning academic dress

When you return your academic dress, make sure you bring your receipt.
