Sexually harmful behaviour
The University is committed to providing safe, respectful environments free from sexually harmful behaviour, and support for people who need it.
Sexually harmful behaviour includes:
- sexual harassment
- sexual assault
- any form of unwanted sexual advance
- request for sexual favours
- any other unwanted behaviour that is sexual in nature.
It can be verbal, visual, or physical, and could involve electronic forms of communication.
- Contact the Tauria—Student Interest and Conflict Resolution team if you are feeling unsafe or have experienced harmful behaviour and would like to access confidential support and information about your options.
- If the issue occurred within University accommodation then you can also speak with someone from your hall's management team or the Accommodation Wellbeing Adviser.
International students should also be assured that:
- making a report of concerning behaviour will not impact your visa
- any information you provide will not be shared with your family or other universities unless you request that this information is shared
- the University can provide a translator at your request.
You can also get in touch with the VUWSA Student Advocates if you want to speak to someone who is independent from the University.
