Getting Started survey
Find out about the Getting Started—Student Voice survey and how your feedback helps improve the experience for future first-year students.
Getting Started is the University’s annual survey for new students, designed to understand your experience as you begin your studies.
It is sent to students who start at the University in Trimester 1 and asks about:
- your decision to study here
- your application and enrolment experience
- your orientation and first few weeks
- your first impressions of university life.
This survey helps us to improve how first-year students get started at university and transition into study.
Why it matters
The Getting Started survey helps the University understand what it’s like to be a new student—and how we can support the transition from school to university. It plays a key role in identifying early challenges and opportunities for improvement.
The Getting Started survey is one of the first opportunities for you to share your voice at the beginning of your university journey. Your feedback helps shape future orientation programmes, enrolment and onboarding processes, and the overall first-year experience.
