Graduation celebration events

Individual university groups host other celebrations during graduation week. Your faculty, school or unit may be hosting an event.

These events are in addition to the official May 2026 graduation ceremonies.

Doctorate celebration

The Vice-Provost (Research) hosts a celebration for all doctorate graduates.

Pasifika graduation celebration

A celebration for Pasifika graduates, their families, and the wider community to honour the shared journey of success.

A morning tea celebration for graduates from the Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation with their whānau.

Faculty of Law celebration

A light lunch will be provided and a chance to mingle with fellow graduates, followed by a photo on the front steps of the Old Government Building before the parade.

Wellington School of Business and Government Student Excellent Awards

The awards are an acknowledgement by the Wellington School of Business and Government to our graduates and donor-funded prize winners for their excellent achievement. This event is by invitation only. Students receiving an award will be notified and the relevant staff invited.
