Tips for maximising your study time

You’ll likely have a time of day when you’re at your best—alert, focused, and motivated. Get to know what works for you and make the most of this time.

  • Make your work digestible. Break your work into small, manageable tasks and set small deadlines to help you see your progress.
  • Create a to-do list. Write down everything you need to do for the week so you remember what you need to get done. This will help with meeting deadlines and making sure you have enough time to get your work done. Tick off tasks as you complete them to build a sense of achievement.
  • Take breaks. Regular breaks help you study more effectively and avoid having to repeat revision or redo parts of your assignments.
  • Manage distractions. If worries are distracting you, write them down and set it aside to deal with later. Find ways to tackle common daily distractions that work for you.
  • Reward yourself. After finishing a task or handing in an assignment, reward yourself with something you enjoy.
