Applying to study

You need to re-enrol for each new academic year. The deadline for limited entry courses is 1 December. To ensure you have the best chance of entry to your chosen programme or course of study, we recommend applying as soon as possible.

Explore what courses are on offer in 2022, what the prerequisites are, and organise your timetable.

View the progress of your degree and your majors/minors, including the requirements you've completed, those in progress or still to be started.

Reach out to your relevant Faculty office if you need help planning your programme of study or have queries about your course choice.

If you need any help with your application, contact Admissions and Enrolment via enrolments@vuw.ac.nz, 0800 04 04 04 or visit us on the ground floor of the Hunter building, Kelburn campus.

Student finance

Once you have decided to study make sure you apply for StudyLink. You do not have to wait until you are enrolled. We recommend you apply before 16 December as applications can take up to six weeks to process.

You must pay your fees in full. For the majority of students studying in Trimester 1 2022 this date will be 25 February 2021. When enrolling in courses after this date, fees are due upon enrolment. Read more information about paying your fees.

Search our database to find what scholarships are on offer. Scholarships are available at all levels of study and based on a variety of criteria.

If you are experiencing financial difficulty, consider applying to Pūtea Āwhina, the Student Hardship Fund. Most currently enrolled students who are in financial hardship are eligible to apply for help from the Hardship Fund.
