Ākonga tūao Student volunteers

Our students are part of the wider community and have diverse skills and expertise that they are willing to share to benefit society.

Kitea Impact Programme

Students can make a positive impact in their community and worldwide—and gain new leadership skills and connections—by joining the Kitea Impact Programme.

If you have a volunteer opportunity where students can give back to their communities and develop their skills, please get in touch so we can share this with our Kitea students.

To connect with the programme, email kitea@vuw.ac.nz.

Wellington Plus student volunteers help plant trees in the Town Belt as part of the Wellington City Council’s plan to plant two million trees by 2020.
My student experience was enriched by the mahi I did in my community. In addition to the friendships I made and the skills I developed, I secured my first job in my field based on the experience I gained volunteering.
