Alumni as Mentors programme

Share your expertise to help a current student, while enhancing your own professional development.

Connect, mentor, grow

If you’re a working professional who studied at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, consider becoming involved in the rewarding experience of mentoring a current student.

The Alumni as Mentors (AAM) Programme connects University alumni with students in their final year of study. You’ll be matched with a student, meet with them to provide advice and guidance, and share your professional experience.

You’ll need to commit around 12 hours to the programme and some or all of your meetings can take place online. You can be working in any sector and a graduate of any discipline to take part.

Many alumni have found the programme to be a valuable experience—helping them improve their own communication skills and to make connections with other alumni.

Your employer might consider making the AMM programme part of your individual professional development.
