Health is fundamental for individuals and society to grow, prosper, and succeed. Today, Aotearoa New Zealand and the world face multiple and profound health challenges. Our researchers focus on better outcomes for individuals, whānau, and communities across education, health, midwifery, nursing, and psychological sciences. We work in partnership with communities and professionals to develop transformative, evidence-based solutions that support people to thrive.

Te Tātai Hauora o Hine—the National Centre for Women’s Health Research Aotearoa is dedicated to eliminating preventable harm and improving health outcomes for women, children, and whānau. The Centre is led by Professor Bev Lawton, ONZM, (Ngāti Porou) who was the Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year in 2025.  With your support, we can build on our research programme, expand our local and global impact, and make a real difference to the lives of women and children.
