Shopping and eating

The University has several shops and food outlets on its Kelburn campus that are open to the public. These include a pharmacy and cafés.

Retail outlets on our campuses vary in their opening days and hours according to trimester times.

Food shops

The University has several cafés and food outlets that the public are welcome to use. These include Maki Mono Sushi, The Lab, and Subway in the Easterfield Building, a Wishbone café in the Alan McDiarmid Building, Krishna Food in Kirk Building, The Hunter Lounge in the Student Union Building, and the Milk and Honey restaurant in the Rankine Brown Building.

There is a second Vic Books café at Pipitea campus on Bunny Street, next to the bus terminal.

Fruit and vegetable market

A fruit and vegetable market operates on both the Kelburn and Pipitea campuses during trimester times from March to October. Kelburn runs on Thursdays in the Tim Beaglehole Courtyard and Pipitea runs on Wednesdays on Bunny St, outside Rutherford House.

The market also sells freshly baked bread, and is open between 10 am and 4 pm.

Shops on campus

The University has a pharmacy that the public can use.

Anytime Library

Anyone can use the Anytime Library, located on Kelburn campus. It’s a lending machine for books where you can choose from over 300 titles in a variety of genres.

Anytime Library is a partnership between the University and the City Council, and all you need to use it is your Wellington City Libraries card. Find the Anytime Library in the lobby of the Easterfield Building.
