The Centre for Biodiversity and Restoration Ecology focuses on the restoration of species, communities, and ecosystem functions impacted by human activity. Its Māori name Te Tumu Whakaoho Mauri o te Ao Koiora references ‘the pillar restoring the life force of the natural environment.’ Our researchers work with iwi and local community organisations to help restore island, coastal, wetland, and forest ecosystems.
Your support will enable the Centre to protect and sustain native fish, frogs, birds, plants, and trees, restoring native biodiversity in the Wellington region and across Aotearoa for future generations.
