About Dr Logan Bannister

Logan started in her role as Tumu Whakauru—Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students) in October 2023. She is responsible for growing and retaining student numbers through developing and implementing strategies that focus on scholarships, experience, wellbeing, and learning support.

Logan is an experienced tertiary sector leader with a strong background in developing and implementing best-practice and student-driven strategies and projects. She has a genuine passion for student development, particularly Māori student achievement and equitable outcomes.

Logan has a PhD in Education from Curtin University in Perth, Australia, and a Master of Education from Massey University. She came to Te Herenga Waka from Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology | Te Pūkenga where she was Director—Student Services and Experience, leading the student services portfolio across five campuses in the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato.

Logan had a successful career in education, strategic leadership and student engagement including being National Manager: Student Services—Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
