About Dr Logan Bannister

Dr Logan Bannister was appointed Tumu Whakauru - Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Students in October 2023. In this role, she leads the strategic direction for student growth and retention, encompassing domestic and international cohorts. Her portfolio includes oversight of key initiatives such as scholarships, Open Day, Orientation, and student transition programs.

Dr Bannister is committed to enhancing the student experience through holistic wellbeing, inclusive practices, and targeted learning support. Her leadership ensures that all students and their whānau are supported throughout their university journey, with a focus on delivering a high-quality and equitable experience.

With extensive experience in the tertiary education sector, Dr Bannister is known for developing and implementing student-centred strategies that reflect best practice. She is particularly passionate about Māori student achievement and advancing equitable outcomes across the student body.

Dr Bannister holds a PhD focused on the retention of Indigenous students in tertiary education.
