Candidate statement

I am genuinely curious as to what the council does. For all of my schooling my minor involvement in student feedback events and meetings has fed into my curiosity around the bureaucratic goings on of the university. I have at times interacted and cited some of the statutes presumably put in place by this council and from this I am curious to know, what drives the implementation and enforcement of such things, and whether the council genuinely believes it is improving the standard of study at the university.

Besides curiosity, I have also as of late been feeling rather guilty for the state of the world to which I inhabit, I need not point out what would cause such negativity as it is evident, but such feelings have given rise to the idea that if I am to do something about it, I must put myself in situations where I may not feel comfortable but where, I might, have a chance to observe and even influence the machinery in which people live, and suffer within.
