Profile

Claudia Jardine has completed her MA studies in Classics at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. She holds a First Class Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree in Classics from the same institution. Her research was centred on Anna Komnene’s Alexiad and Byzantine historiography. She previously worked on an Honours thesis about the use of love bites or hickies in the Latin elegies of Tibullus and Propertius. As well as a keen reader of poetry, Jardine is also a published poet. Byzantine studies is a new area of research for her, but she is excited about where it may lead.
