Profile
After working as a teacher of Chinese language and Chinese literature in both China and Australia for over four years, Chun decided to pursue her research interest at Te Herenga Waka — Victoria University of Wellington. She chose Shen Congwen as her research subject because they are both from West Hunan, and she believes that, as a major figure in modern Chinese literature, Shen deserves further scholarly exploration. Chun is also a co-editor of an upcoming Chinese language textbook, 时尚汉语 (Contemporary Chinese), to be published by Peking University Press. In addition to academic work, Chun undertakes the NZASIA postgraduate student representative role in 2024. She regularly contributes to an anthropology-themed column in The World Views (世界博览) from 2024 to the present.
