Harry, wearing a black jacket and beanie, stands in front of green hills and blue ocean. A small island can be seen in the distance.

Harry Warring

With a passion for understanding how the world works, Harry began a PhD in Physics.

Mattias Meyer stands at a laptop with Brendan Darby sitting at the desk. Brendan wears blue gloves and is holding lab equipment. MaramaLabs and the logo are in the background.

Brendan Darby

Measuring the chemical content of cloudy liquids such as wine, beer and milk can be difficult, but researchers at MaramaLabs, are coming up with a solution.

Matthew, wearing a lab coat and safety glasses, works with chemistry equipment.

Matthew Brett

After completing a Bachelor of Science, Matthew realised that he wasn’t ready to stop learning.

Putri, wearing a lab coat, stands next to chemistry equipment.

Putri Fraser

Combining iron with natural silicates can create a safer, easier method for removing nitrate pollution from waterways, PhD graduate Putri has discovered.

Brett, wearing a lab coat and safety glasses, laughs at something off camera. He is holding chemistry equipment with other equipment on the bench next to him.

Brettelemani Manaia

Brettelemani completed a Bachelor of Science and is now studying towards a PGDipSc in Chemistry.

Yvonne looks straight at the camera. She sits by the window in a cafe with a green coffee mug next to her on the bench.

Yvonne Booysen

Originally starting with a single major in Geology, Yvonne opted to take a 100-level chemistry course out of interest, which saw her rethink her degree.

Tane, wearing a blue lab coat and a hair covering, looks at physics equipment in a small lab.

Tane Butler

Growing up in Whanganui, Tane was always inquisitive about the natural world and wanted to understand its many phenomena, so science was definitely for him.

Ben sits at a table in the hub. Behind him is the blurred outline of people, digital screens and the library.

Ben Jones

Ben completed a Master of Drug Discovery and Development and now works as a medicines evaluator at Medsafe in the Ministry of Health.
