Film screening: Tits on a bull, written and directed by Tim Worrall
The MA in Creative Writing graduate's short film is one of six finalists in the New Zealand International Film Festival's New Zealand's Best short film competition.
Tits on a bull was written and directed by MA in Creative Writing graduate Tim Worrall (Ngai Tuhoe/Te Arawa), based on a short play he wrote during his MA Scriptwriting year.
The film follows the star player of a Māori women’s rugby team who must choose between loyalty to her coach and love for her teammate. It was produced by Piripi Curtis and Lara Northcroft, with photography by Richard Curtis. Shot on location in and around Rotorua, it stars Roy Billing and Maria Walker, alongside Rotorua rugby player Ngawaea Taia (Te Arawa) in her first acting role.
Tits on a bull had its international debut at the Tampere Film Festival in Finland in March this year.
