Fees-free study

If this is the first time you’ve studied at a tertiary level and you studied at a New Zealand high school in 2017 or later, you may qualify for fees-free study. Find out if you are eligible.

Fees-free study applies to the calendar year—if you sign up to courses that begin in January, you could get fees-free study for that year if you are eligible.

International and Doctoral students

International students or those enrolling in a Doctoral programme have a different application process and cannot apply using this online system.

Master's programmes

You can apply online for most Master's programmes but some need paper applications. Check the application process with your Faculty office before you apply.

Trimester 2 applications are due 15 June 2020, and Trimester 3 applications are due 27 October 2020.

Some limited entry, postgraduate, and Teacher Education programmes may have different application dates. If you have any questions, contact your faculty.

Admissions

All new applicants need to meet one of the admission types to gain entry to Victoria University of Wellington. For postgraduate entry (Honours, Master’s, certificates, and diplomas) and Teacher Education programmes, you’ll also need to meet additional programme specific requirements.

For new students wanting to enrol in Classical or Jazz performance or Music Therapy, an audition is required. Find out about auditions on the Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music website.

Audition applications are due by 20 July in the year preceding enrolment.

You will normally need to be at least 16 years of age by the application closing date.

For everything to do with your enrolment, we will email the address you give when you register with the online enrolment system. If you haven't received anything, try checking your spam folder first.

What to do next
