Halls of residence tours

Throughout the day, you can take short tours of Capital Hall, Joan Stevens Hall, Boulcott Hall, Katharine Jermyn Hall, Te Puni Village, Victoria House, Weir House, and Cumberland House.

The tours do not have scheduled start times but will operate regularly from the halls’ receptions areas. You can visit some of these halls on our looping buses on Open Day, or find your own way using the maps provided.

  • Friday 26 August, 9 am–5 pm
  • Saturday 21 August, 10 am–2 pm by appointment only—book the hall you would like to visit.

Helen Lowry Hall

To visit Helen Lowry Hall, you can take a shuttle. The shuttle will operate every half hour between 8.30 am and 3 pm, leaving from Gate 2, outside Robert Stout building, Kelburn Parade. Look for signs near Gate 2.

Looping buses

Use our free looping bus service to visit Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington’s campuses and halls of residence. Be sure to look for buses with “Victoria University of Wellington Open Day” signage.

These hop-on/hop-off buses will depart Kelburn campus regularly from Gate 3 (under the overbridge on Kelburn Parade). The first bus departs at 9 am and the final bus at 3 pm.

From Kelburn campus, the bus heads to Katharine Jermyn, Joan Stevens and Boulcott Hall, Pipitea campus, Te Aro campus, Capital and Willis Street Halls then Victoria House before returning to Kelburn.

Allow plenty of time in your schedule as the bus timetable is traffic dependent.
