Financing your study

Work out the cost of your study and how you will pay for it—check if you can get fees-free study, student loans and allowances, and search for scholarships.

Fees

All students pay tuition fees and compulsory levies. Calculate how much your courses will cost.

Student loans and allowances

Students may fund their studies with a student loan and/or allowance. You must meet certain criteria to be eligible for these funds.

Fees-free tertiary study in 2021

Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington is one of the New Zealand tertiary institutions to offer free tuition for eligible tertiary learners in 2021.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available for students at all levels of study and are based on a variety of criteria.
