Find out about the services available to students through VUWSA.

Whether it’s through great events, strong advocacy and campaigns, or welfare services to help you through student life, VUWSA always has your back.

VUWSA advocacy

The VUWSA Advocates are here to provide professional, confidential, and independent student support to help you with academic issues, complaints, accommodation problems, as well as employment and legal disputes. Any problem, they are here to help.

Community Pantry

VUWSA and Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington have partnered together to deliver the Community Pantry. The Community Pantry gives out food parcels to students who need them throughout the year. This is a no judgement system; any student can access a community pantry parcel.

To get a Community Pantry food parcel, visit the VUWSA office at Kelburn (Level 4 Student Union building) or the Te Aro campus library reception and fill out a Community Pantry form. Collect from 10 am-4 pm, Monday-Friday.

Menstrual products at VUWSA

Free menstrual products

Whether you can’t afford menstrual products this cycle or you’ve just been caught out and still have to go to class, VUWSA’s got you covered. Kelburn, Pipitea and Te Aro campuses all have collection boards where you can pick up a pack of free tampons or pads. You can also ask for free menstrual products to be a part of your Community Pantry parcel. Collection stations with free supplies can be found at these locations:

  • Kelburn—ground floor Rankine Brown building, next to the toilets under the Hub stairs.
  • Pipitea—ground floor Rutherford House, next to the info desk
  • Te Aro—campus library, beside the main entrance.

Subsidised Wā cups

VUWSA has teamed up with Wā Collective to bring you subsidised menstrual cups for just $20 each. To purchase yours, visit the VUWSA Kelburn Reception.
