My journey in the School of Management has taken me from undergraduate study to finishing a Master of Commerce degree, and now preparing to begin doctoral research. Initially, my intention was to complete my bachelor’s degree and then return to public sector work, but this quickly evolved into a genuine passion for the study of management.

What stands out most to me is the welcoming and supportive environment. Lecturers, students, and campus staff have always fostered a strong sense of belonging. Walking through the Pipitea campus, I can always count on a friendly conversation, a laugh, or both. Particularly meaningful for me is the Pasifika team and a dedicated space on campus, which strengthens that homely feel.

Organisational Behaviour (OB) course has been especially impactful for me. OB fundamentally challenged my thinking and introduced me to critical perspectives that reshaped how I understand management and its potential for broader societal impact. Throughout postgraduate study, I received exceptional support, especially from my supervisor, Professor Todd Bridgman. Todd's guidance and empathy greatly influenced my thesis on high-performance athletes' well-being and opened doors for me to tutor in OB, present my research, and contribute to an ANZSOG course which he teaches annually. These opportunities have helped me grow in confidence and see myself as part of the academic community.

Overall, I can wholeheartedly say that my experience in the School of Management has been one of belonging, support, intellectual challenge, opportunity, and transformation.
