Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME)

Wellington School of Business and Government is an advanced signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).

PRME is a global business school initiative founded in 2007 with the support of the United Nations and the UN Global Compact. It serves as a global platform to promote sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in business schools, and to connect the 800 business school signatories in this common goal.

With our commitment to PRME, we’re educating our students to not just do well, but to do good too.

Message from Professor Jane Bryson

As part of the globally minded capital city university Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, Wellington School of Business and Government is second to none in its commitment to PRME and all it stands for.

Since becoming a participant in 2014 and our first report in 2016, our activities around the six PRME principles and the UN’s 17 associated Sustainable Development Goals have grown significantly and become ever more embedded within the research, teaching, and external engagement of our staff and students.

Wellington School of Business and Government values innovation and entrepreneurship for a more ethical and sustainable society and supports this through strong engagement with the public, private, and third sectors, as well as national and international collaborations with other universities and research institutions.

Our research and teaching endeavour to enhance the social, environmental, and economic wellbeing of the world around us for both today’s and tomorrow’s generations. In pursuit of this, PRME provides an excellent framework for action and a collaborative platform.

Professor Jane Bryson
Dean of the Wellington School of Business and Government
