- hormone intra-uterine system (IUS).
Emergency contraception
If you need emergency contraception, call us on 04 463 5308 and ask to speak with a telephone triage nurse. If you need advice about emergency contraception at a time when Mauri Ora is closed, call Healthline on 0800 611 116.
Emergency contraception is for when you've had unprotected sex or if you think your contraception method may have failed. It will not protect you against sexually transmitted infections, so talk to your doctor or nurse about STI screening.
