Successful Marsden Recipients

Congratulations to our staff who were successful in the highly competitive Marsden Fund.   The School of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences had a successful round this year with three of our staff receiving an award.  These staff were:

  • Dr Andrew McGregor received a Standard Marsden Grant for his research into the REDD and the new politicaleEcology of forest protection in Indonesia.
  • Dr Brian Anderson  received a Marsden Fast Start grant for his research into how long glaciers can keep advancing in a warming world.
  • Associate Professor Tim Little was awarded an Associate Investigator award for a grant led by Professor David Prior from the University of Otago.  This research will be about the episodic creep at the brittle-ductile transition during the seismic cycle of great earthquakes.
