Fehl Charitable Trust (FCT) Scholarships

Value: $3,000 per award

These two scholarships are designed to help support deserving New Zealand School of Music undergraduate students who are in financial need. Preference will be given to second and third year students who have demonstrated a commitment and contribution to music within and beyond the university community.
Eligibility: Students are selected on the basis of financial need, academic merit and commitment to music.
Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree at the New Zealand School of Music.
D.F McKenzie Award
Value: Approx. $500
Closing date: 31 March
To assist in the purchase of research resources (eg. software, photocopying, internet time) Open to Masters and PhD students enrolled in disciplines with which D.F. McKenzie was closely associated: English, Film and Theatre, and Media Studies; Music; Information Management; History; Art History; Maori Studies; Anthropology.

Herbert Sutcliffe Hardship Scholarship

Value: Approx. $2000
Closing date: 31 March
For students who are enrolled on a full-time basis for the final year of a BA, BEd, BMus or BA(Hons), BMus(Hons) or first year of a MEd and who are facing financial hardship.

Margaret Nielsen Scholarship
Value: $1,500
Closing date: 31 March
Awarded to a student beginning a BMus in Classical Music Performance, on the basis of musical ability and financial need.

Therle Drake Postgraduate Scholarship
Number: Varies
Value: Approximately $12,000 (subject to funds available)
Closing date: 31 March, 1 November
The scholarship is for postgraduate classical performance overseas study and application should be made in the year for which the project is planned. While the terms of the bequest are that preference be given to a piano student, other applicants will be considered.
This scholarship is open to NZ citizens, permanent residents and international students.
