Kiwi Music Scholarship

Closing date: 01 March

The purpose of the scholarship is to assist outstanding New Zealand musical performers or conductors who have completed, or are completing an honours or masters degree in musical performance in New Zealand to continue their musical development either overseas or in New Zealand. The scholarship will be awarded for classical instrumental performance (including vocal performance) or conducting.

Kia Ora Foundation Travelling Scholarship in Music

Closing date: 01 March

To enable a senior performance student or teacher of musical performance, to travel overseas to attend master classes, to audition for entry to a music school, or for professional development.

AIMES Awards

Closing date: 03 August

These Awards are presented to young people of the North Harbour Region, between the ages of 13-25, who have achieved excellence in the categories of the Arts; IT, Innovation & Science; Music; Education; Sport and Service to the Community.

The Adastra Foundation Scholarship

Closing date: tba

For exceptional musicians aged 16-26 yrs enrolled at a tertiary institute. While NCEA curriculum achievement in music will be noted, more emphasis will be placed on involvement and success in co-curricular programmes such as Smoke Free Rockquest, Play It Strange, Pacifica Beats, Battle of the Bands and the like.

The Alex Lindsay Memorial Award

Closing date: tba

To provide financial assistance to young students and performers on an orchestral instrument whose aim it is to take up a career in symphonic music.

Marion Rayward Memorial Scholarship in Music

Closing date: 15 October

To provide opportunity and encouragement for music teachers or music teachers in training to engage in study, research or practical work in music or other related spheres including music therapy, dance and movement.

Dame Malvina Major Foundation Awards

Closing date: 15 June

To support young New Zealanders with outstanding ability in the classical performing arts who are preparing for a professional career.
