The NZSM enjoys close relationships between performance and composition students. This is demonstrated through the formation of various New Music Ensembles. In the last 20 years these have included ensembles such as Epìfani, Turangalîla and gateseven.

The current new music ensemble is the SMP ensemble, comprising performance and composition students, as well as recent graduates and other local musicians.

Performers and composers are invited to consider forming their own new music ensembles. Talk to the Programme Leaders for Composition and Performance if you are keen to be involved in some way.
