Wellington School of Business and Government is a leader in Management education in the Asia–Pacific region.

Wellington School of Business and Government offers a range of qualifications in Tourism Management, Management, and Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations.

Accreditation

The business school’s Tourism Management programme is certified by the World Tourism Organisation. The Executive Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA), which is offered through the Professional Programmes office, is accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA).

Research strengths

As well as a track record in effective teaching, the business school has a range of research strengths in management and leadership, ethics, employment relations, entrepreneurship, systems, strategy and innovation, and tourism. It is also home to the Centre for Labour, Employment, and Work (CLEW) and the Brian Picot Chair in Ethical Leadership.

Centre for Labour, Employment, and Work (CLEW)

CLEW has been a trusted source for employment relations practitioners, unions, and policy-makers since 1970. CLEW is the leading research organisation in New Zealand on collective bargaining and union membership—supporting research needs in government, business, and non-governmental organisations. The current director of CLEW is Dr Stephen Blumenfeld.

Brian Picot Chair in Ethical Leadership

The Brian Picot Chair in Ethical Leadership conducts research that encourages ethical governance and practices that foster confidence in business, inform public policy, and help mitigate the risks that lead to organisational failures. The Brian Picot Chair in Ethical Leadership was established in November 2016 and the inaugural holder of the chair is Professor Karin Lasthuizen.
