Up for a challenge?
Start your year at Victoria University of Wellington on the right foot and win.
A challenge for all students, staff and members to get out and explore some of the great views and peaks that Wellington and New Zealand have to offer. To enter the draw to win weekly prizes, you need to upload a photo of yourself (or your group) at the top of each peak, tag @unirec_wgtn and use our hashtag #4peaks4weeks.
One lucky participant who climbs four of Wellington’s or New Zealand's famous peaks will win our grand prize. Spot prizes are also up for grabs.

Boyd-Wilson Relay 2024
Victoria University and Massey University are working together to bring you the Boyd-Wilson Relay 2024. This fun on-campus relay will include two different grades that you can register your team of four in.
- Social: one lap per team member (342m).
- Competitive: three x laps per team member (1026m).
We are inviting everyone of all fitness abilities to register a team now in the social or competitive grade.
The 2024 Boyd-Wilson Relay will be run in memory of Mrs Hazel Murphy who was a neighbour of the University community for many years.
Wahine Toa self-defence workshops
University Recreation Wellington holds regular self-defence courses. These are open to all self-identifying women and non-binary people.
Gain more confidence in your everyday life—learn ways to be strong and safe in a variety of situations. These courses teach you hits, kicks, holds, and escape techniques, as well as providing tips to help keep you safe.
The next course will be available soon.
Courses run in the MT Foyer, SU229, Student Union Building.
This is a free course for students, but spaces are limited.

Glow Zumba
Glow Zumba is returning in 2024, more information available soon.
Dress up in neon or white to glow, get creative with our neon paint station, and enjoy this cardio-dance workout.
Group exercise members $5, non-group exercise members $10.

Australasian University Health Challenge
The Australasian University Health Challenge (AUHC) is a six-week challenge that encourages everyone to focus on wellbeing and increase their daily physical activity.
The challenge involves logging the number of steps you take each day as part of a university team in competition against other universities.

We're promoting health and wellbeing by encouraging our students, staff and community to explore 5 of our favourite Wellington bays. Win some amazing weekly prizes along the way and be in for a chance to win the grand prize at the end.
Share a photo (via post or story) at one of the specified bays and tag us @Unirec_WGTN (Instagram) or @University Recreation Wellington (Facebook), with the caption #5bays30days to be in to win. Make sure your profile is set to public so we can see your entry. Each post is worth one entry; complete all five bays and we’ll double your entries.

Outdoor Zumba
Outdoor Zumba will be returning in March 2024, watch this space for updates.
Join us in Tim Beaglehole courtyard for the biggest Zumba class of the year, all while enjoying the fresh air.
