Victoria University of Wellington is committed to supporting its athletes by offering a variety of sporting scholarships.
Mātātoa Sport Scholarships
The Mātātoa Sport Scholarships foster excellence in sport and academic performance. This scholarship supports the student athlete to retain a healthy balance of focus and commitment toward their programme of study, sporting commitments, and their own wellbeing, resulting in a rewarding and successful university experience.
The scholarship is open to any athlete from all disciplines who are intending to enrol or are currently enrolled at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
Victoria University of Wellington and OBURFC Rugby Scholarships
The Victoria University of Wellington and OBURFC Rugby scholarship fund is to support students of any gender, ethnicity, or descent, who have both academic and rugby ability, to study at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington and play for its affiliated rugby club, Old Boys University Rugby Football Club (OBURFC).
Roger Robinson Scholarship for Student Runners
The Roger Robinson Scholarship is open to all students who are intending to enrol, or are already enrolled, in an undergraduate degree at the University. This scholarship is to assist competitive runners succeed both academically and in their sport.
Jamieson Family Sport Scholarship for Pasifika Students
The Jamieson Family Sport Scholarship is for a Pasifika student, to be awarded on the basis of academic merit and sporting achievement. This scholarship is for three years, with an annual award of $10,000 per annum. Preference will be given to female students and those facing financial hardship.
