Concerto Competition Finals

Adam Concert Room

For over 20 years the NZSM Concerto Competition has been an annual highlight of the Classical Performance programme calendar, showcasing some of New Zealand’s most promising young solo instrumentalists as they compete for the prize of Concerto Competition winner.

A preliminary performance round is held to select the finalists who then go on to perform the entire concerto with its full orchestral accompaniment.

This year, our three finalists will be joined by the NZSM orchestra to perform their chosen works, Tchaikovsky’s Violin concerto, Nielsen’s Flute Concerto and Sibelius’ Violin Concerto.

This event is free but seating is limited.
