NZSM doctoral student Angela Karini wins Maori Development Award

NZSM doctoral student Angela Karini has won the Maori Development Award in the Victoria University of Wellington 2016 Postgraduate Research Excellence Awards.

Angela is completing her PhD in Music Studies based on tribal ways of knowing, doing and being through tribal song, in particular Ngati Porou and Te Aitanga a Hauiti. Her research addresses the perspective and praxis and how cultural sustainability is nurtured and maintained. Her supervisor is Dr Brian Diettrich.
