Career and job search advice and appointments

If you are a Victoria University of Wellington student or recent graduate, you can book a 30-minute appointment with one of our career consultants to help you with career planning, decision-making and job applications, from the general exploration of career ideas to targeted careers and job information.

Log in to the University’s CareerHub for available face-to-face and Zoom appointments. If you’d prefer a phone appointment, please contact careers-service@vuw.ac.nz.

For prospective students, you can be referred for an appointment once you’ve met with the Future Students team.

Job application checks

If you are a Victoria University of Wellington student or recent graduate, we’re available to review and offer feedback on your draft copies of CVs, cover letters, job application forms and scholarship applications via email. If you would prefer this in person, you can book into a CV or Cover Letter Basics workshop or appointment.

Before using the email review/feedback service, you must have completed at least one of the following:

You can then email your CV (and any other application documents in MS Word format) to careers-service@vuw.ac.nz for further checking by a career consultant.

Please allow us two business days to reply. During February to April this will take three business days. In your email tell us:

  • your degree, majors and stage of study e.g. final year
  • your target career area OR the job advert and job description or a weblink to it
  • the application closing date (if applicable)
