Find out what careers expos are coming up on campus.

During the academic year Careers and Employment organises and hosts a series of specialist careers expos. They are an excellent opportunity for students and recent graduates to get information and to network with prospective private and public sector employers and other recruiting organisations.

The expos run to a simple, informal format generally held over a two to three-hour advertised period.

2021 expos

Science and Health careers expo—Tuesday 4 May, 12 pm–2 pm

Held in Te Toki a Rata foyer, Kelburn

This is your introduction to employers in the Science and Health industries, across a variety of disciplines. Employers from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors will be in attendance to talk about career opportunities and answer your questions about working in their field. Careers and Employment staff will be available for advice and guidance and there will be representatives to talk to about further study options.

Featuring over 25 employers including: Ministry for Primary Industries, KPMG, IDEA Services, HealthCare NZ, Ministry for the Environment, New Zealand Customs Service, and Environmental Protection Authority.

Tech careers expo—Wednesday 5 May, 12 pm–2 pm

Held in the Alan McDiarmid Building, Kelburn

Come along to the Tech Expo and explore opportunities to work in NZ’s booming tech industry. A wide range of organisation will be present, from the big players to start-ups. Hear about the various roles available and how you can put the skills gained in your degree to practical use. Careers and Employment staff will also be available to chat to you about your career options.

Featuring over 25 employers including: Weta Digital, Summer of Tech, Grant Thornton, Intergen, Xero, Datacom, PwC, and ANZ.

Trimester 2 careers expo–Thursday 22 July 11 am–2 pm

Held in the Hub, Kelburn

Our Trimester 2 expo is aimed at employers who are looking to engage with students from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds. Its mid-year placement is timed to align with organisations who are hiring at this time of year, such as government departments and those who need to fill summer intern positions. The inter-disciplinary nature of this expo makes it a great opportunity to connect with a broad range of organisations and industries, get a feel for the job market and start to explore your options. Careers and Employment will be attending and offering a CV checking service, as well as general advice.

  • Attend with a group of friends or classmates, you can offer each other support in networking and approaching employers.
  • Attend one of Careers and Employments fantastic networking workshops before the expo.
