We're shining a spotlight on a set of AI tools that have or will have an AI research assistant in the future. We'd love to hear what you think. These tools are rapidly evolving.

Follow these links and see if these tools are ready for you to use in your study or research:

  • Proquest Central Research Assistant
    Offers suggestions and prompts, helping users formulate next steps and aids productivity by providing document insights. To view the research assistant, open an article in full text view and look for the sparkle icon on the right-hand side. Note that the research assistant may not be available for all content.  
  • Proquest eBook Central
    Helps researchers and students navigate eBooks, surfacing key insights, uncovering connections and guiding them to the next steps in their academic journey. To view the eBook summarizer, open an Ebook chapter and look for the sparkle icon on the left-hand side. Note that the eBook summarizer may not be available for all content.
  • PRIMO AI Assistant (Te Waharoa)
    Provides information about sources and links to full texts to help delve deeper into topics to improve research efficiency and accessibility using AI capabilities.
  • JSTOR interactive research tool
    Facilitates engagement with complex content to enrich research and learning. To view the interactive research tool, log in to your JSTOR account, open an article, and toggle on the research tool in the top right corner.
  • Dimensions AI Assistant
    Finds the most relevant research, gets answers and result summaries, producing abstractive answers for the top results.
  • Ebscohost AI Insights
    Offers summaries of full text articles highlighting 2-5 key points, helping researchers assess relevance of the article to their research and making better use of their time. To view the insights tool, perform a search in EBSCOhost, and look for the sparkle icon amongst the search results. Click 'view AI insights' to view the tool.
  • Ovid: AI Article Summary Beta
    Designed to highlight the key elements of each article, helping users to understand the main points and key takeaways. To view the article summarizer tool, open a full text article, and look for the sparkle icon below the author information. Note that the summary tool is currently only available for certain Ovid Journals, as it is still in beta phase.
