The former Chief Financial Officer of the company filed a defamation lawsuit again the company, and the Wall Street Journal turned to a panel of leading experts to comment on how the company handled the crisis in terms of its crisis communications.

The same panel of crisis management experts commented in a following article looking at the situation involving state-run Brazilian oil company Petrobras, which is at the center of major bribery allegations.

Dr Laufer is a worldwide expert in crisis communications, with articles in leading academic journals in the fields of marketing and public relations.

He has also generated interest among the business community, with the leading practitioner magazine in Europe for public relations and corporate communications, Communication Director, inviting Dr Laufer to discuss the implications of his research to practioners in their strategic thinker column.

Dr Laufer is also serving as the sole guest editor for the well-known managerial journal Business Horizons on a special issue on Crisis Management scheduled to appear in March 2015.
