Te hapori o ngā kaitārewa me ngā manuhiri Community Borrowers, Former Staff and visitors
Visitors are welcome to use Library collections and spaces. We also offer “Community Borrower” and "Former Staff" memberships.
Community borrowers
If you are not eligible for alumni membership or University Libraries of Australia and New Zealand (ULANZ) access, you can apply for Community Borrower membership ($50 fee applies, per person, per annum) which enables you to borrow print books, audio-visuals, and journals. These applications are considered on a case by case basis according to research needs and current demand on Library resources from University students and academics.
You are welcome to come in and visit any of our libraries and view items from our open collections. Please be aware that our online collections are for licensed users only, so this service is excluded from your membership.
If you have your own device (e.g. laptop or tablet) you can also login to the University’s wireless network, using guest access.
Please note that community borrowers are unable to borrow course reserve 2-hour or 3-day loan items.
Former Staff
In response to requests for former staff to have access to Te Pātaka Kōrero's collection we have introduced a former staff membership to recognise the service of previous University staff and provide them with streamlined access to a wealth of library online subscribed resources. This membership complements two other options, Alumni and Community Borrower memberships.
If you were previously employed on a permanent basis for a minimum of 3 years with Victoria University of Wellington you can apply for Former Staff membership ($90 fee applies, per person, per annum). This enables you to borrow print books, audio-visuals, and journals and access selected online databases as permitted by the licence agreements.
You are welcome to come in and visit any of our libraries and view items from our open collections. Please note that former staff are unable to borrow high-demand course reserve 2-hour or 3-day loan items nor use the interloan service .
During your visit, if you have your own device (e.g. laptop or tablet) you can also login to the University’s wireless network, using guest access.
