Profile
Anna has always been interested in history, especially the 19th century. It was during her master's studies in Anglo-American history and culture that she began to take an interest in the British world and discovered that little was known about the history of New Zealand in Poland. She devoted her master's thesis to the history of the colonisation of New Zealand. It was then that the idea of continuing her academic career was born. However, before she decided to apply for doctoral studies, she studied cultural anthropology. At that time, she won a scholarship from the New Zealand government to study in New Zealand for one semester. During her studies in Wellington, she became interested in First World War. While in New Zealand, she became friends with some members of the Polish community who had arrived in New Zealand in 1944. She returned to Wellington for PhD in 2023. Her thesis focused on the imagination of Central and Eastern Europe in the British Dominions during the Great War.
