Fees and costs

The tuition fees for your research degree depend on the subject area and type of degree you plan to do. Fees are charged each academic year on a per-point basis and vary by faculty or subject. All students are also required to pay compulsory levies.

Master’s by research or coursework fees will vary depending on the specific qualification and whether you are a domestic or international student. Domestic and international students pay the same fees for doctoral study, which will vary by subject.

Postgraduate scholarships

Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington’s strong research culture is reflected in the range of its scholarships. Our scholarships are available for both domestic and international students in Masters and PhD programmes to support their studies.
