Wellington School of Business and Government makes a significant contribution to knowledge through its research—particularly at the intersection of the public, private, and community sectors. The research activities of our 200 academics and many postgraduate students help build capability and accountability, improve business performance, and contribute to creating a better public sector and society.
Victoria University of Wellington is a great university for my research because of its close connection with public organisations, particularly the government departments situated in Wellington, and its strong academic expertise in human resources and public management.
Many of our staff are pre-eminent in their fields within New Zealand and have international reputations for the quality of their work.
Wellington School of Business and Government (WSBG) is among the 1 percent of business schools worldwide to hold the 'Triple Crown' of international accreditations—AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA—along with other accreditations from industry and professional bodies.

Research degrees
WSBG offers research degrees in more than 20 different subject areas. At the same time, we encourage innovation by thinking beyond traditional subject boundaries. You can take an interdisciplinary approach to your research—combining ideas or methods from other subjects within WSBG or collaborating with another school in a different faculty of the University.
Wellington School of Business and Government offers two research Master’s degrees and a PhD.
