Te Pātaka Kōrero ki Te Tātai Ture Law Library
The Law Library supports study, teaching and research for the Faculty of Law at our Pipitea campus through an extensive range of online and print material.
Facilities
- Use the Green Zones on levels 1 and 2 for group work and conversation.
- Use the Blue Zones (on each floor) for quiet, individual study.
- Three group study rooms are available for booking.
- Self-checking machines are in the Reading rooms on all levels and at the ground floor reception.
- Printers are in all the Reading rooms on all levels.
- Te Kauwae Parāoa, the Māori and Pasifika space, is on Level 2 for group work and study conversations.
- Due to the architecture of the Old Government Building and its heritage nature some areas of the Library may have limited Wi-Fi coverage.
Collection
- The main Law Library collection can be found in the Reading Rooms on Levels 1-3.
- The Law Library uses the Moys cataloguing system.
- Te Kauwae Parāoa, the Māori and Pasifika space, on Level 2 houses Archives New Zealand documents that were published by the Waitangi Tribunal.
- Course reserves and requested items are found in the Ground floor foyer.
- Theses and reference books are in the Reading Room (G25) on the ground floor.
- Most reading materials for courses are available electronically via Nuku and Talis reading lists.
Services
- Ask any library-related questions at the Service Point on the ground floor.
- The Law Subject Librarian is available for personalised assignment and research consults.
- The Law Subject Guide will help you with legal research.
- Law Library tours are provided at the beginning of trimester and are available on request. You can also view the Law Library 3D tour.
- After 5pm on weekdays and all day on weekends and public holidays, access to the Law Library is by swipe card access (for current students and staff).
