Ian Gordon Secondary Teacher Fellowship

Applications are invited for secondary-level teachers of English to spend a term as a Visiting Fellow in the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies at Victoria University of Wellington.

The Fellowship will facilitate the development of resources for the teaching and study of New Zealand English in the New Zealand secondary school system. These resources might for example be targeted towards any of the NCEA standards where awareness of New Zealand English could enhance student understanding or help develop students’ research skills. The Fellowship would cover the cost of teaching relief for the successful applicant for one term. The Fellow would have access to shared office facilities in the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies, as well as to the university’s computer and library facilities. One Fellowship is being offered for a single school term in 2014, with preference given to applicants who would be available in either term 1 or term 2. Applicants should send a completed application form (see below), together with a CV and a statement (up to 300 words) outlining how they would make use of the opportunity provided by the Fellowship to paul.warren@vuw.ac.nz, by 1st November 2013. A decision on the appointment is anticipated by 8th November.
