Well done to all of you. Bring your student IDs to pick up your prizes anytime during our business hours from Wednesday 8 April.
The Library presents Poetry Week (23-27 Mar). It is an opportunity for us to showcase hundreds of our Poetry resources while giving students the opportunity to listen to, perform and submit their original poetry, and this year is no exception:
- The Library's Poetry Competition - submissions have opened for students (with a current student ID) to email in their original poem (one submission per student). There are no themes and no set forms. Email in your poem in PDF form to LibraryEvents@vuw.ac.nz. Add your name into the Subject Line only. Library Staff then vote on their favourite "anonymous" poem. Competition closes 3pm SHARP, Friday 27 Mar. The winners will be announced on Thursday 2 April. All submissions will be displayed at the Level 2 Service Point until after Easter. Prizes are:
- Winner - Two tickets to Lighthouse cinema
- First runner up - $20 vouchers to Milk & Honey (redeemable at Louis too)
- Second runner up - $10 voucher to Milk & Honey (redeemable at Louis too)
- Beanbag Poetry Recital (Open Mic): (noon - 25 Mar) -- Students are asked to sign up on the day from Library opening at 8am til noon to perform their original poems live. You can submit your poem into the Poetry Competition afterwards if you want to via the email above.
