CACR Fellow, Dr Ron Fischer, presented on Extreme Rituals in the Science Express Series at Te Papa Tongarewa.

Ron discussed the importance of ritual in today’s societies - whether extreme rituals promote cooperation and well-being. He discussed how some of the more extreme practices taking place around the world help us understand more about these cultures and the people living within them, and what rituals can tell us about ourselves as fellow humans.
